Maura has loved home design since playing very young with dollhouses and rearranging doll furniture pieces, drawing floor plans to get creative solutions. Later on, she would focus on magazines to get the latest and newest ideas. She would help friends and family with design dilemmas. After graduating from Gallaudet University, she worked in the human services and teaching field for years. She and her husband Jeff have raised two children. Design, decorating,DIYs and buying/selling homes continue to be her passion today. Her business, designsMaura started 22 years ago to make silk scarves , artworks and greeting cards. She recently received her Home Staging certificate from the New York Institute of Art and Design. Today designsMaura with its original services has added home staging and decorating services.

BEFORE: Room is in good condition. It needs to be decluttered and have decor that will not distract buyers. To be staged.
AFTER: Decluttered and change wall decor. There is feeling of more space and calm. Buyers now can see the space and the patio door.
BEFORE: Client wanted a new look with same furniture and to showcase valued items. To be styled for living.
AFTER: Rearranging furniture and displaying items on walls. Room feels more cozy.
BEFORE: Client wanted a welcoming feel in dining area. To be styled.
AFTER: Wall decor is added, table gets updated, bookshelf is decluttered and personal items are added.
BEFORE:Furniture and items were mostly on one side of room, leaving bare spaces on opposite side of room, need to declutter and remove items. To be staged.
